Outlaw X Returns – $15,000 prize fund announced by the PTO

The Outlaw X half distance event takes place in the magical grounds of Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire on 27th September 2020. The event provides triathletes of all ability levels to race on a truly beautiful course and finish the triathlon season on a high!

With limited racing opportunities this year the Outlaw X middle distance race is billed to attract multiple pro-athletes. In the Mens category will be the likes of former ITU World Champion and Ironman world record breaker, Tim Don and another ITU stalwart who has sucessfully transitioned over to middle-distance events, ITU/70.3 athlete Adam Bowden. The women category will see Olympian Lucy Hall, already battle scared from the recent Hevellyn Triathlon, battling it out with Ruth Astle, Ironman Age Group World Champion 2019, and 2nd in the open women’s division at Hellvelyn last week.

One of Nottingham’s key sporting events, the Outlaw has become (almost) as legendary as Robin Hood!

Those who conquer the Outlaw Half just may be remembered in local folklore for having outwitted the Sheriff to complete a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1mile run. As long as you can cover the distance in 9 hours or less, you will become an Outlaw

The swim takes place in the clear, unspoilt Thorseby Lake. A single out and in course makes it easy to navigate and then with a quick escape via transition, you are straight out on your bike. The single loop bike course offer great surfaces for fast riding  There is c. 2,000 ft of climbing, with the highest point on the course coming at 51 miles. On returning. the run course around Thoresby Park, makes use of the internal roads and hard-packed farm tracks within the estate with gentle inclines and descents to the finish line.
