The TriNation Podcast Ep53 – Ryan Bolton

This week on the TriNation podcast we welcomed on Ryan Bolton – 2000 Olympian turned coach and founder of Bolton Endurance Sports Training (BEST).

Ryan had a prolific career as a triathlete coming 2nd in the Junior World Championships in 1993, the Kickstarter to his professional triathlon career. He eventually went on to represent the USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the sports first showing of the event on the Olympic stage.

From here he moved to the Ironman distance most notably winning the 2002 Ironman Triathlon at Lake Placid, New York.

He now coaches many of the top professional triathletes and runners in the world including Ben Hoffman, Heather Jackson, Sam Long and young rising star Daniel Dixon amongst many others! Alongside this currently heads up as USA Triathlon High-Performance Advisor and travelled out to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games where the USA had an incredibly successful games.

We touch on all these things in this discussion with Ryan as well as his coaching methods and what tips he has for triathletes getting into the sport.
