BBC get broadcast rights to Super League Triathlon

The BBC acquires media rights to broadcast live coverage of Super League Triathlons first London event.

Next month viewers across the UK will be able to tune in and see Britain’s leading Olympic triathletes line up in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on March 27,  racing in the  SLT Arena Games Triathlon powered by Zwift.  The BBC will bring you live coverage of the Super League Triathlon which you can follow on the BBC Sport website & app and Connected TV as well as BBC iPlayer from 3pm.

The SLT Arena Games comprises the three triathlon disciplines in a mixture of real-life and virtual racing. The swim segment takes place in an Olympic-sized swimming pool, while the bike and run legs will take place using poolside smart trainers and self-powered treadmills.

The racing will follow Super League’s Triple Mix format, with athletes competing in three rounds of short racing. The order of the disciplines will be altered each time.

Within the provisional starting line-up are Jonny Brownlee, two-time Olympic medalist who has already been selected for Team GB for the Tokyo Games; Georgia Taylor-Brown current ITU World Champion, who is also in the British team for this summer’s Olympics; Alex Yee, who still hopes to take one of the remaining Olympic slots and Beth Potter, winner of the ETU championships and who competed for Britain in the 10,000metres at the last Games.  Also lining up will be long distance triathletes such as George Goodwin and Ruth Astle.
