TRI-FIT Official Launch and Review

Some people say the triathlon market is becoming more and more saturated. As the sport continues to grow, more brands are popping up on the scene regularly, so you need to have something extra to make you stand out from the crowd. TRI-FIT have slowly over time been making their mark on the triathlon apparel scene worldwide and our review will show you why they are set to be big players.

We were sent some kit from the brand in line with their new official launch to give it a test, and of course, an honest review. With Ironman St George just around the corner, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity for this release and may well give you some inspiration into what kit you will be buying for the up and coming 2022 race season, be that for training or for racing.

Bike Kit:

TRI-FIT SYKL PRO EARTH Long Sleeve Men’s

First up we have the TRI-FIT SYKL PRO EARTH Long Sleeve Men’s cycling top. No doubt the first striking thing about this top is the colours, they are certainly eye catching and automatically give you that ‘feel good, train good’ factor.

As triathletes we are athletic types and it’s evident that it fits nicely around the the athletic body and is not too tight – a common problem we find with some kit. In turn the fabric TRI-FIT have used is nice and thin which makes it breathable, stopping that occluding of sweat when out on a ride.

The top is thin and would not suit your average winter ride, however, having tested this in the spring time what we the long sleeves work perfectly, and gives you that sense of a summer ride in a short sleeve top. We’d even go as far as saying this top also suits the summer periods (if you live in the UK) where there are still those days where the wind can be nippy and you begin to get cold, it probably just depends how desperate you are for those all important tan lines

Finally, we felt the back pocket were one of the smaller details that really make TRI-FIT stand out. Rather than the standard three pocket at the back they have downsized to two, allowing for easier access when reaching behind to take out your phone or nutrition, it just saves a lot less wriggling and shoulder movement. Let’s be honest the newest iPhone is about three times the size of the original one, so it has to fit in somewhere.

TRI-FIT SYKL PRO SKIN Bib Shorts Men’s

Moving onto the bib-shorts, we’ll begin with the fabric and feel. Made of premium Italian Carvico energy fabric this feature supports your muscles nicely and fits like a glove. There are no flappy parts in the lower section of the shorts which is great news for any aeroynamic enthusiasts out there.

The inside chamois is on the more minimal size but we personally like that, it allows for easier movement and freedom in the legs. What also backs up TRI-FIT’s eco friendly claim is that the chamois is made from 100% recycled “ECO Carbonium Flash” which is a great reason to purchase in our book.

The plain black colour goes well with the top above, but as black would go with most colours, it would be nice to see more variety of the top colours in the future!

These are high-performing shorts that are totally comfortable and will no doubt give you comfort in any weather on any ride.

TRI-FIT EVO Men’s tri-suit

Without question, the EVO tri-suit has proved to us to be one of the most comfortable and competitive tri-suits on the market. If you are entering a 10+ hour marathon race you will prioritise comfort and using premium Italian fabric, TRI-FIT have done just that. The silky like fabric has been well thought through and likely originating from the brand’s Aussie roots. You can tell that their claim to breathability rings true and the quick-drying properties all help with performance.

There has been a lot of focus on the aerodynamics and the finer details that are needed in a suit like this. The suit features a unique side access, floating rear pocket for easy use whilst racing and a leg pocket for extra storage, perfect for essentials like gels or bars. It covers every aspect of what you need and takes away any stress of trying to open things up during a race and allows you to solely focus on your swim, bike and run.

The padding, again similar to the bib-shorts, is minimal but that works perfectly with a tri-suit like this and will give you that freedom of movement you will need when moving from that bike to run.

The colours are nice and if you are a minimalist you will have no complaints, however if you’re looking something more outgoing look out for what we have to say further down.

TRI-FIT may not be a conglomerate brand in the triathlon world yet, but based on the companies dedication towards what they produce and how they do it, we don’t see them being far off from setting their own mark on the field in the future. They have worked hard to meet customer satisfaction whilst being an environmentally friendly brand – see their 1% story HERE.

Word is that TRI-FIT will be releasing a new Aussie style tri-suit in the near future. So, if you are a minimalist like the writer of this review, the kit above is the one for you. However, if you are more flamboyant with your style keep your eyes peeled for that exciting new release.
