Danish Olympian Andreas Schilling Retires
Rio Olympian and 2018 World Duathlon Champion Andreas Schilling has retired at the age of 29 a matter of months before the 2021 Tokyo Olympics is due to take place.
The dane, who won the Duathlon World Championships on home-soil in Odense in 2018, had been a favourite to gain one of the slots for the Danish men’s Olympic squad for the Tokyo games.
He made a return to racing in 2020 at the Hamburg World Championships after a bike crash in mid-2019 ended his season early. He finished 42nd in the individual event and 6th in the relay.
It would have been Schillings second Olympic Games after Rio 2016 where he finished 28th.
