CHALLENGE ROTH POSTPONED

Challenge Roth, one of the world’s most popular and iconic triathlons on the long distance scene, has been postponed until September due to the pandemic.

The 2021 race, which was originally due to take place on July 4th has now been moved to September 5th. The Challenge Roth team believes this is in the best interest of all parties involved from athletes to volunteers and of course the local community. The priority is keeping everyone safe.

After the complete cancellation of the event in 2020 due to Covid-19 this will come as a disappointment to competitors who are eager to see racing restart again. The organisation hopes that this decision to move the date will increase the chances of the event being held as new influxes of coronavirus continue to cause disruption amongst all areas of sporting life.

Challenge Roth announced in a press release. “This significantly increases the chances of your dreams coming true this year despite all the uncertainties, because as you know: dreams cannot be cancelled! Currently, many of you are behind in swim training. The vaccinations will also take some time to roll out. We therefore believe a later race date gives us the greatest chance to make Challenge dreams come true this year”.
