British and Home Nations 2022 Triathlon Championships calendar dates released
As the 2021 race season draws to a close, British Triathlon and the Home Nations of England, Scotland and Wales have released the calendar dates for the National Championship races in 2022.

British Triathlon statement:
The championship events bring athletes from across the respective nation to compete to become national champion, with 2022 set to see a full championship calendar delivered following two Covid-19 affected years.
Each Championship is hosted by experienced event organisers with the support of British Triathlon, Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland or Welsh Triathlon. With different distances and disciplines on offer, there are a number of opportunities to take part throughout the year.
For the British Championships, the first championship event of 2022 will be the British Standard Distance Duathlon Championship at Oulton Park. Taking place on 20 March, this early-season race provides the opportunity for members to kick off their year with a national crown.
Later in the year, the middle distance triathlon championship will head to Outlaw X for the first time, whilst the standard distance triathlon championships once again return to the World Triathlon event in Leeds on 12 June.
The English Championships will feature the ever-popular club relay championships in August before concluding with the Bournemouth Triathlon for the standard distance triathlon championships, bringing a second sea swim to the championship calendar after the middle distance championships take place at Ironbourne.
In the Triathlon Scotland National Championships, the season will see the return of the Scottish National Schools Aquathlon, Mixed Team Relay and Youth Championships for the first time since 2019. With a number of the dates yet to be confirmed, the nine-event calendar will provide plenty of opportunity for members of Triathlon Scotland.
Stretching from March to November, the Welsh Triathlon Championships consist of seven events including the Cardiff Sprint Triathlon on 26 June which also doubles up as the British sprint championships.
Championship events provide British Triathlon Home Nation core and ultimate members with the opportunity to compete to be crowned national champion in their age group.

The calendar for Great Britain Age-Group Team Qualifiers will be announced in November once confirmation of international races and rollover places due to Covid-19 postponements are confirmed.
