Bahrain Endurance unveil three new athletes to 2021 team roaster

As Bahrain Endurance enters it’s seventh year since their initiation three new athletes join the already star-studded squad that includes the likes of Olympic Champion Alistair Brownlee, Rio Bonze medalist Vicky Holland and multiple World Champion Javier Gomez, amongst many others.

Each athlete that joins the team are there not only for performances that they can produce to win major titles but also to promote the attributes of endurance sport as well as being role models across the world.

The new athletes to join the team are 2016 Olympic Bronze Medalist and 2018 Commonwealth Games Champion Henri Schoeman (RSA), Rio Olympian and Tokyo Test Event winner Tyler Mislawchuk (CAN) and 2016 Olympian and WTS winner Cassandre Beaugrand (FRA).

Henri Schoeman said in a press release by Bahrain Endurance “It’s great to become part of Bahrain Endurance 13, a team full of champions and amazing athletes. Our relationship starts at a very significant time in my career as I find myself competitive across the Super League, Olympic and now 70.3 distances of triathlon. I’m really excited about the coming years with the team as I am passionate about sharing the values and benefits of sport and triathlon and offering inspiration to the younger generation”.

Tokyo test event winner Mislawchuk is no doubt one of the favourites to win gold in Tokyo after his stand out performance at the test event in 2019. With his place already secured on the Canadian squad since that moment, he has no doubt been able to prepare strongly as he looks to produce the same performance again.

“The opportunity to be part of the Bahrain 13 Endurance Team is a great privilege”

Cassandre Beaugrand is perhaps the best female runner in the sport at the moment and on her ‘A-game’ has taken WTS wins with ease. Having already been part of the mixed relay world champion line-up that also won gold in the Tokyo Test event, she is in good contention to come away with a medal, be that individually or as part of the mixed relay team.

Team CEO Chris McCormack said in the press release about the teams success to date “Seven years is a significant amount of time in all sport, but it is a very long time in endurance sports and we continue to lead the way as the gold standard for success.

It’s always a revelation to see what new members bring into the team dynamic. Their youth, drive, physicality, and individual personalities energise and motivate us all.

We have seen a huge uptake of sport in Bahrain since we first started this team and our patron His Highness Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa has led the Kingdom down a path of health, activity and opportunity”

After a disrupted 2020 due to Covid-19, the team will certainly be looking to make a better mark on 2021.
