A Race! – Triathletes to compete in the Sunset Bay Triathlon

The first signs of the triathlon world returning to competition has started as The Sunset Bay Triathlon 2020 is set to be held on August 1 on Tuan Chau Island , Vietnam. Located within the World Heritage, Hau Long Bay, Tuan Chau Island will allow for a closed race circuit with no traffic and social distancing measures in place where athletes can take in the breath-taking sunset, crossing the finishing line.

Athletes will  compete in a 1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10k run in the afternoon to sunset, a unique time compared to other triathlons in Vietnam. Last year more than 300 athletes from 18 nations took part in the event.

On the website the organisers state:

‘Located within the World’s Heritage – Ha Long Bay, Tuan Chau Island creates a closed race area with no traffic for an absolutely amazing experience for all triathletes.

Being held in the afternoon, Sunset Bay Triathlon will be the first race where all triathletes could experience the stunning sunset at the Bay area upon arriving at the Finish line and go all out at the beach party after that.’
