Andrew Woodroffe appointed Lead Performance Centre Coach in Switzerland
TriNation contributor and Podcast co-host Andrew Woodroffe has been appointed as Lead Performance Centre coach for @3starcats in Zurich Switzerland.
Andrew will take up his new post as Leading Coach at the Next Generation regional triathlon performance centre in Zurich as of 1 January 2022. He will take the lead in the training and comprehensive support of Swiss elite and competitive athletes together with head coach Kathlen Massow. 3star cats is the largest triathlon training club in Switzerland.
Andrew is himself a former successful British top athlete with a university degree in sports science and holds the highest British triathlon coaching diploma coupled with 6 years of professional experience as a full-time triathlon coach for junior and elite athletes in Great Britain. This wealth of experience provides him with the ideal prerequisites to develop the performance centre sustainably both now and in the long term.
For the past three years he has been the Lead Performance Coach at the National Triathlon Performance Centre in Scotland (University of Stirling) where he has coached, mentored and guided elite athletes on their successful international athletic journey.
Andrew said upon his appointment: “I am so grateful to the club and the board for giving me this incredibly exciting opportunity. What this club has already created is super impressive and to be involved in this next phase forward is right where I want to be. Wallisellen and the 3star cats have everything we need to foster and create a brilliant performance centre with motivated, dedicated athletes and full club support. Personally, for me I can’t wait to get started to work with the individuals, challenge myself and make triathlon history in the Zurich region.”
