Ticket ballot for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games
A ticket ballot will be introduced for fans to attend next year’s Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, ensuring more people have a chance to be part of the biggest sporting event hosted in the UK since London Olympics 2012.
With limited opportunities to attend live sports events in recent months due to the pandemic the organisers are anticipating extremely high demand for this historic event and the ballot system is deemed the fairest and most equitable way of ensuring sports fans from around the world, the UK and locally can attend the event at the Alexander Stadium, which will host the opening and closing ceremonies for the Games and other surrounding venues.
Over 1 million tickets will be issued for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games in which there are 286 sessions, 19 sports, and 11 days of unmissable competition to choose from. With the biggest integrated para sport programme of any Commonwealth Games, and more medals set to be awarded to women than men for the first time ever, records will be broken as the Commonwealth’s sporting heroes come together at Birmingham 2022.
