3X Olympian Alexander Bryukhankov FAILS Doping Test

Russian triathlete and 3X Olympian Alexander Bryukhankov has been caught doping following an in-competition test and has been provisionally suspended.

World Triathlon reported that a sample collected from Alexander Bryukhankov, a triathlete from Russia, has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for recombinant Erythropoietin (EPO) (S.2 Peptide, Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances, and Mimetics).

Bryukhankov raced at the London 2012 Olympics

The sample was collected by World Triathlon on 19 June 2021 in Kitzbuhel, Austria, at the 2021 Europe Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships.

Bryukhankov of course still has the right to request the analysis of the B-sample and to challenge the imposition of the provisional suspension before the Court of Arbitration for Sport – Anti-Doping Division (CAS ADD).

This case follows that of fellow Russian Igor Polyanskiy who recently tested positive for the same crime (EPO) and is now also currently serving a provisional suspension.
