2024 World Triathlon Championships to be held in Malaga 

World Triathlon together with the Spanish Triathlon Federation have confirmed the hosting rights for the 2024 World Triathlon Championship has been awarded to the gateway city of the Costa del Sol, Malaga.

The Championship is World Triathlons jewel in the crown for the Elite, U23, Junior, Para and Age Group triathlon, coupled with  Mixed Relay World Championships.

Marisol Casado, World Triathlon President and IOC Member said: “The commitment from the Spanish federation to our sport, elevating the organisation of top-level triathlon events is just outstanding, … The location is just perfect, with warm temperatures, an incredible venue, and a course right through the heart of the city, one of Europe’s best tourist destinations”. 

Jose Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Federation said:“This year, the commitment of Spain to triathlon has been fantastic…and confirms our status on the international scene.” 

Being awarded this prestigious event on the international calendar next year will be the culmination of a historic 2023 for Spanish triathlon as the country is to host 2023 World Championship Finals in Pontevedra from September 22 to 24 having hosted the 2023 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Ibiza from 29 April to 7 May and will also be hosting the Europe Triathlon Championships in Madrid from 2 to 4 June.
