TradeINN Internationat Triathlon 140.6INN

Over 12 nationalities and some PROs have already registered for what is expected to be a landmark event in Europe and the rest of the world

With each passing day, it seems that the 140.6inn is increasingly becoming a reality. In a time of endless postponements and cancellations of high-level and important trials, it seemed like it would be difficult to organise a first edition of a long-distance event and, undoubtedly, it was a major challenge. But when Tradeinn announced the project to the world, it was already aware of what it was facing.

Every day the registrations increase and, thanks to the international coverage that this trial has received, there are already 12 countries that will be standing on the starting line on 31 May.

Nonetheless, for those of you who are wondering if the virus might threaten the race, Tradeinn will refund 100% of the registration fee if the event cannot take place because of the pandemic. Additionally, we will listen to individual cases where the athlete is the only beneficiary. That is what distinguishes the 140.6inn from the others. The reason for organising this triathlon is not a desire to make money, unlike other big brands that have punished the athletes, created an air of detachment and a lack of respect which is less than dignified for a triathlon.

Routes

As always, the circuits are the first enticement for a race where the fastest will find it difficult to get below the 8 hours. However, with the level that is expected at the starting line, there is likely to be more than one surprise.

Swimming

The triathlon event will begin with the water section consisting of 3800m of open sea swimming at the Platja Llarga in Platja d’Aro, with its high water quality and perfect views of the route marker buoys.

Cycling

The main attraction will undoubtedly be the cycling section. A totally anti-drafting circuit passing by ascents which are the backdrop for big UCI races like the Romanyà, la Ganga, Santa Pellaia, and the oast road from Sant Feliu to Tossa de Mar.

Over 2100m of incline in one single lap, passing by the Tradeinn facilities where you can expect more than one surprise.

Running

To finish, a marathon on the promenade at Platja d’Aro, totally flat and passing through the Ruta del Carrilet, a route that connects the whole province of Gerona, which enables the athletes to enjoy the unique surroundings and a premium feed station service that will be the hallmark of the first edition of the 140.6inn

Prices

In three weeks’ time the first price change will take place, so you will need to keep an eye out  as the opportunity to take part in a triathlon of this calibre for only  150€ cannot be found every day.

From 1 November to 31 January the price will be 199.95 euros. And for those registering after 31 January the registration price will rise to 249.95 euros.

Prizes

This is another strong point of the 140.6. It will not just be attractive to the best triathletes in the world, but the organisation will also reward the efforts made each day by many athletes that don’t earn a single euro from taking part in the triathlon, although their passion and determination is right up there with the professionals.

Elite prizes:

1st. 7.000€

2nd. 4.000€

3rd. 2.500€

4th. 1.000€

5th. 500€

GGEE prizes:

The first three that qualify from each age group – there are 12, from 18 to 79 years of age –will receive a 250€ voucher to spend at Tradeinn.

Sponsors

We now know two of the brands that will have their names in sections of the race: Adidas will be at the forefront of the run, while Zoggs Swim will be at the swimming section.

Two leading brands within their sectors and a third brand, still to be named, which we will see in Gerona on 31 May.
