GB Boys Smash Charity Target
Two Great Britain juniors, Dan Dixon and Jack Stanton-Stock, smashed their target of £2000 by more than double. The boys rode for 18 hours on the virtual cycling platform Zwift for their 18th Birthdays, to raise much needed funds for the NHS due to the current global pandemic of Covid-19.
The ride was heavily covered on Super League Triathlon’s social media and integrated with professional triathletes such as Georgia Taylor-Brown and Jess Learmonth through live stream talks to keep the boys occupied whilst undertaking the challenge. They also featured on BBC Look North and BBC Radio Newcastle as they began their ride.
During the ride Dan took to his own Facebook live and stated that he now ‘hated food’ and was ‘looking forward to getting off’ but was ‘thankful for the support and donations’
The current amount raised is nearing £4500 and the just giving page will remain open for a few more days here
