British Triathlon Super Series Returns
The British Triathlon Super Series returns to the calendar this week-end offering high-quality draft-legal races for Britain’s top Senior / Junior / Youth performers at the scenic Hetton Lyons Country Park in County Durham
The format of this Super-Sprint event will be similar to the recent European Championships in Kitzbühel and provide British athletes from England, Scotland and Wales with the first chance, since the pandemic limitations, to compete against other high-performing athletes of their age in individual and mixed relay races.
There will be a Mixed Junior (17-19) and Senior race likewise with morning heats and afternoon finals for Super Series points. The Youth race is a draft legal European Youth Championship Qualifier.
Saturday 17th July will see an exciting schedule of high-quality draft-legal racing where Junior and Senior athletes will race in individual Heats and Finals waves over a Super-Sprint short course:
Swim length: 350 metres
Bike length: 7.5 kilometres
Run length: 2 kilometres
as they swim, bike, run their way to try and earn series points with the overall winners crowned at the final race of the series.
Youth A and Youth B athletes will also race together, as part of the European Youth Championship Qualifier, in individual heats and finals waves over the same Super-Sprint short course.
After all the individual races have been completed the climax of the day will be the exciting four-athlete tag team relay race for a mixed youth and Junior/Senior relay event.
The Hetton race format provides an excellent closed-road experience with a deep-water start; fast multi-lap bike course culminating with fast flat run course around the lake
