British Super Series – Barclay Izzard back in Winning Ways

British Triathlon’s 2021 Elite Competition Calendar highlights include British Championships and British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series, along with the additional opportunities for athletes to go head-to-head with the country’s finest triathlon talents.

The British series witnesses the best of Britain’s up and coming athletes – who collect points across the events over the year. Athletes’ highest three scores are considered, with the series’ top performers awarded the overall title. Due to the pandemic there are only three races arranged for 2021.

This midweek Tuesday 10th August the second of the series events was held at Mallory Park in Leicestershire bringing athletes from across the Senior/Junior and Youth ranks for a Sprint race consisting of a 750 km swim, 20.2 km bike and 5 km run.

Senior/Junior Mens Race

The mens Senior/Junior race saw the return of Barclay Izzard who was one of the British quartet of Georgia Taylor-Brown, Jess Learmonth and Alex Yee who secured bronze at the Mixed Team Relay World Championships in Hamburg 2019 and was the winner of the 2019 Huelva ETU Triathlon European Cup.
