Bay Watch as Lucy Charles Barclay to race the AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds
Lucy Charles-Barclay is to make a sensational debut at the AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Champions Series, Leeds during the week-end of 5-6 June 2021, in an event that represents the pinnacle of triathlon competition in the UK.
Better known for her achievements in long course triathlon having taken three second place finishes at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Lucy Charles-Barclay is set to drop down a distance and race in the AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Champions Series, Leeds against some of the world’s best triathletes who will be chasing precious points for the Olympic qualification, on a technical and challenging course.

The Olympic distance race (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) will be set within the picturesque setting of Roundhay Park with its 700 acres of parkland, lakes and woodland, where the swim, T1, T2 and finish line will all be within the boundaries of park, a ‘covid bubble’ to make the event covid secure.
Lucy Charles Barclay will begin her triathlon challenge with a 1.5km swim in Roundhay park’s Waterloo Lake ahead of a 40km technical bike ride to really test the riders before heading out on a 10k gruelling run finishing outside the regency building of Mansion House.
The race is scheduled for Sunday, June 6, 2021 13:08 PM BST and is set to be another hotly contested battle in the early summer sunshine as the world’s best triathletes compete for podium places and Olympic qualification points in an intense race to project them towards the most important event of the season, the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
